Default 1984 Honda V64 found for $100 - should I go see it?

Just browsing craigslist, I found an 84 V64 thats been sitting for a few years. Owner says it needs battery and oil change and should run. It doesn't look very good, but could be fun. Lst thing i need is a project, but I'm still drawn to it!

over 100 hp could be fun.

I know I should forget it, but hmmm....

For $100, why not? As long as you're prepared to spend a bit of time or money getting it running...

"sitting for a few years"? better check the back registration or it may be a lot more than $100.

if all it takes is a battery and oil change, that's simple enough-see if you can get that done first before the sale just to make sure it runs.

That's actually a V65 Sabre. Honda also made the V65 Magna which was a much more popular bike. For $100 that looks like an good project. You shouldn't have problems finding most parts for it since Honda made so many of the Magnas. By all means at least go see it though.

I'm at school, and with finals coming up, the last thing I need to do is mess with a project like that.

Thats a great bike! My dad used to have one - 124hp and a ton of torque to go with it. Awesome sounding V4 engine. Very reliable, however it was CARB'd so im sure thats going to need some work to get it all happy again.

Great bike.

It's easy working on those honda carbs.. I fixed up a 84 nighthawk that was sitting for over 12 years.. just cleaned out the jets, float bowl, bought a new battery and tires. Ran like a champ

Do a search for "honda v65 v4 top end" on google. Not one of the more reliable Hondas. If its that cheap the head is probably no good. But who knows.
