Also, if it's in jersey, you can bet they're just going to steal it back from you and chop it up.

But at the same time you'd complain if your own car got stolen. Why do you think people steal cars? Because they are able to sell the parts to other people who say "I'd buy it" without questioning the source.

well first i would buy a really effin good alarm, then go get the car, drive it to a friends house whom you dont hang out with very much and hang out there for a couple hours. then at night drive to your house and park it in the garage making sure that nobody followed you. install the alarm next day and hide everything REALLY GOOD and go to town on extra barriers, ie. hidden fuel pump switch, hidden head light/brake light switch, flashy light thing for alarm, hood locks, keyed lug nuts, etc. etc. it's your job to beat them at their game, so make it obvious that you've taken extra extra measures so they'll leave the car alone.

i dont know how strict cops are up there about popping hoods and looking for stolen parts but they dont do it here...the way i look at it you're saving $4000+... you could always just resell the car too.

but most importantly follow your gut instinct on whether or not you should buy the car.

Sadly, if theives want your car, there is nothing you can really do other than putting it away somewhere far away. All those kill-switches and cut-offs wont stop the good ones, Ive heard of thieves bringing by their own P28s just to steal a car. And there is always the deadly trailer theives, that took my buddies ITR and 240 in the same day. The price seems way too low BTW, and wtf is an Si Bubble

If everything is legit with a clean title, that's a bargain.

yea, no ****...the seller would have to be mentally retarded to sell at this price...

PS. to keep your car away from trailor thieves, turn your steering wheel, then put a pad lock on the steering column joint. you can only turn the wheel maybe 2 inches, and its a tight enough spot that you cant get in and cut it

check the vin and make sure everything is legit. Also if you carry cash, keep it on you and bring 2-3 people with you. Never leave cash in the car! regardless, its just a ploy.

Scenario:
Buyer comes at night to buy a car, leaves cash in the car to make sure the seller doesn't rob him. Second seller friend comes from bushes and slimjims the car to steal cash out the glove box.

When I buy a car, i'm **** about price and looks and overall the whole car. So I look at cars for nearly a year before finding one that is just right. Never been robbed but almost robbed. I always keep the cash on me just because I carry a switchblade(guns are too loud ) with that much cash. One day, I was walking out of an apartment building after looking at a crx with b16 for $1000 and I noticed that my car door was unlocked. I sure as hell don't leave my car door unlocked in strange alleys that some guy selling a $1000 b16 crx meets me at. Luckily, I kept the cash on me and test drove the car. I wanted to buy it but the next day the guy wasn't around at the specified date/time we agreed on. 9am the next day. Always make deals when the sun is out, only thieves roam the streets at night
