Default B16 Build or LS V-TEC Which is going to make more power?

OK i have a B16 from a 00 Civic and it is just about ready for a rebuild, The question is should i just get an LS block and build it into an LS V-Tec or take the B16 and Bore 20 over and stroke it?
Any info is a great help and if anyone has truly a good deal on some piston and rods let me know
Thanx

its not that no one can or cant help you, it is just that they are reluctant to help:

a. someone asking such a stupid question
b. someone who is not willing to search and draw their own conclusion and would rather let HT people tell them what to do with their car
c. someone with something as lame as you in your sig.

short answer is, there is no replacement for displacement, even in the honda world and anyone who chooses an 77.4mm crank over a 89mm crank for an NA build isnt thinking with their head.

what do you plan to "stroke" the b16 with? my suggestion for you in particular is to find a gsr short block an plop your b16 head on it and call it a day.

Use the Search function next time and you won't need to wear a flamesuit when you post. There are plenty of B16 and LSV builds in here. Do some research and you'll be fine.

You can make just as much power with a b16 as with a ls-v or b20-v its just how much money you are willing to spend you have to be more elaborate

My opinion is that a simple oem built LSV will be more cost effective if your looking for something with some good power. I think to try and make the same power with a B16, you would need to put in a fair bit more time and money. Other members opinions may differ on this. Here are two really good threads on LSV's, I hope they can help you out some.

Just a thought: You might want to consider changing your sig, especially if your going to post in the AM forum. Some people like boost better some prefer AM, but lets not bash on each others preferences or opinions. Just my opinion.

Could you please consider toning it down? It seems to me I get at least one post/day about you. God only knows what the other moderators get.

i think you shoul go with Ls-Vtec. It has a lot more tq. and hp. then a b16. but do some more reserch on how to build it. You dont what to buy the cheap stuff trust me that sheat dont work and you end up spanding you money for nothin. You know that many Ls/vtec's leak oil from under the had gasket. Do some reaserch on that and try to build it carfally so you wold not have to the morot out the second time and re doit. wish you the verry best with the swap.

You will never make as much power with a 77.4mm crank as you will with an 89 or 87.2mm crank. Thinking so is just plain dumb.

i agree with alot of people are saying, you could make the same power but would cost more money but would be more reliable, just double check with some research and your budget. good luck

i agree
it will be more reliable with a b16 stroke than a 89mm stroke

Building a b16 would give a fun, strong engine - It would simply cost you a
small fortune. At least $6000.00. Good luck!
