Tokico Illumina Adjustment...
Hey guys,
I've searched for this on the board (and at RS) but no hits to this specific question. I bought a 00' SiR and came with 5-way (?) adjustable Illumina coilovers, but I'm not sure how to adjust them ( ie, raising/lowering the car, not the adjuster on the top of the shock). I took it into a shop to have my other wheels put on, and they said that the lock rings were so tight they didn't want to break anything to adjust them. Does anybody have any experiance with these?
<-- ha ha check out the noob sig, woot!
Regards,
Kris

you must be talking about the RAK kit with height adjustability. normal illuminas dont have height adjustment as part of the shock.
with any double lock ring style, you have to use a pair of spanner wrench if you really need to crank on it.
or use a chisel and hammer to break them loose.

Okay, back from the shop...
The guy said you'd have to jack the car up, let the springs/shocks rest down, then take the spanners to it. Apparently he didn't have any...does the shocks come with a spanner?
Better to do that on a warmer day.
Cheers, and thanks for the reply Tyson.

not a lot of ppl use the RAK kit so i dunno if it even came with them. spanner wrenches are pretty generic. theyre not one size fit all, but i would think for most shock applications its an interchangeable tool. like i said, you can always break out the chisel and hammer to knock it loose.
and yes, it definatley helps to have as little spring pressure as possible on the perch before trying to unlock them.

i didnt want to create a new post and since this post is on tokicos, I was wondering if the 92-95 civic tokico illumina can fit on 96-98 civic lx too?
