Default Help no heat

I am making no heat hardly at all with my integra. I have changed the thermo twice and the symtoms are the same as when I started. Last night I ran the car at idle for about 50 mins with the rad cap off in an attemp to bleed the coolant system. Lots of bubles came up and for the last 20 mins it was as if my rad was erupting coolant. The car eventually came up to running temp but it took like 40 mins and the rad fan never came on.

The upper rad hose felt hot as hell the lower hose only got hot around the end. with the cap on the upper hose feels as though it is going to explode it is so tight with pressure. When driving often if the car has achieved some temperature and I get on the gas and build up speed the car will lose temp. Putting a piece of cardboard infront of the rad helps but when I get stuck in trafic the car will overheat as it is unable to suck in any air.

I believe all of this happened around the same time that I changed the rad.

Please help me as we are rolling into winter here and I will surely die if I have to survive another winter with a car that makes no heat.

You had the heat turned all the way up when you were idling right?

same question i had. sometimes i find if i jack up the front of the car slightly (safely of course) that it helps, as all of the air bubbles will want to rise to the highest spot, which is to the filler neck. Make sure the heat is all the way to the hottest setting, and the blower is on to check the heat output.

I had the heat cranked all the way to the hot setting, but did not have the fan blowing. Although when the engine eventually warms up the heater will pump heat.

I did have the car jacked up while doing this. Is it possible that the waterpump is not working right. I have checked all the water hoses and everything is clean and plumbed correctly.
