Separating Wheel Bearing from Hub
How can I separate the wheel bearing from the hub after the assembly has been already taken off of the car?
I’m left with two bad wheel bearings, and on the driver’s side the hub came out with the complete wheel bearing assembly, but after rotating the assembly there’s binding in the bearing.
On the passenger’s side, the hub came out with only the outer sleeve of the wheel bearing. I’m not worried about the install, I know how to do that, but I don’t want to take it to a shop to have the hub separated from the bearing.
Unfortunately, I ended taking a hub from a different Accord to a shop last time, but I dropped off the assembly and came back later, rather than watching how the mechanic disassembled the bearing sleeve from the hub

Wish I had one of those laying around in the garage, is that the only way to separate them? I've managed to install one without a press with success.

To seperate the bearing sleeve from the hub... I usually put the hub in a vise and use a grinder and cut a big groove in the sleeve. Then I take the my air hammer w/ a chisel bit and hit a few times. The broken sleeve will seperate from the hub.

Thanks for the tip, I ended up using a dremel to cut a slit in the sleeve and broke it apart with a chisel.
