slammed alignment
Hi guys,
its been a while since i have posted on honda-tech...long enough that i forgot my login and password...but since i used to own a civic and the Suby guys dont really approve of dropped cars, i thought maybe someone might have some advice
i sold my civic a while back and bought a wrx...i had to slam it of course coming from a honda...problem is that im having trouble getting it aligned lowered...when i originally lowered it, the guys that did it botched the job and i blew through a set of tires over the summer (crappy bridgestone re-92s so i didnt stress about it). now im raising it up a bit for winter and putting on some decent tires and want a good alignment...it shouldnt be too hard now that its raised off the ground, but ill have to align it again in the spring when i re-drop and dont want to encounter the problem again...im relatively new to my area (Portland, ME) and can't interview every shop in town just for an alignment...my question is how do you guys with slammed hondas get your cars on/off alignment racks and lined up?? i used to bring 2x6's with me to a shop in my home town for my civic, but folks around here seem opposed to that idea
any helpful hints would be appreciated...or better yet, someone in my area that knows a good alignment shop that doesn't bitch and moan over a lowered car and appreciates it. sorry for the lengthy non-honda related post, but if anyone has any advice about lowering im sure its honda-tech...

Your best bet would be to ask in regional specific forums to what alignment shops accomadate lowered cars.
I found a local place that has there alignment machine lift level with the ground, same applied to when I was in college in NY.
