Default 96-98 cupholder in 2000 si

I bought a 96 civic cupholder along with the part for the radio,so i can relocated my radio down there but when i put my radio in ,it seems to just hang in an angle. Is there something that is supposed to be in there that supports the radio up?

maybe the metal sleeve that comes with the radio will hold it up, otherwise just get a piece of metal and make your own bracket

metal side brackets that hold a deck (honda part, search http://www.slhonda.com under parts)
or
metal sleeve (universal), as suggested above

my JVC cd player didnt fit with the bracket on, but without the bracket it fitted perfect. i also screwed it in from the sides just in case some punk came by and tried to steal it.

I have a 99-00 cupholder in my 97, so I don't see why it couldn't be reversed, ask someone who has the stock CD player there, there might be a sleeve.

Use two bolts into the side of the deck. That's what I did when I had mine down there.

That's actually for the separate tape deck, but you could put screws into the side of it.

I realize that I just used the same bolts and drilled threaded holes in the side of my deck to mount it

numbers 9 and 8
77297-S04-000ZZ
77296-S04-000ZZ
Thats the "correct" way to mount it

You have those...theyre the metal things on the side. They may just be bent outward a little.
(sorry, i forgot to mention that earlier)

you could try metal pipe strapping too...just custom make your own bracket with it

I have some pics of how it's supposed to mount. Good thing I had an aftermarket deck and a 96-98 cupholder in my closet
