Would anyone be able to tell me if there are any other honda transmissions that would fit my 98 coupe D16Y8, it has to be automatic. My transmission has a shudder and the honda dealer said AUD$5-6 grand for an overhaul so I'd rather buy a 2nd hand one and put it in myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

any automatic transmission for a D series engine should fit fine. Make sure it has OBD2 sensors. 96-00 d16y8 trannies probably would be ideal.

 

Thanks JT, Accord or Integra's wont go I guess, I was hoping to have more options as there are bugger all civics getting wrecked in Perth. Good to see your a Steve Irwin fan.

np, integra and civic are extremely interchangable, but the rule of thumb for car parts is generally stick to your engine type: D engines get D parts and B engines get B parts.
