Just replacing my front rotors, and getting better brakes pads all around, and I was planning on sticking with Honda's brake fluid, but should I 'upgrade' to a better fluid while I'm at it? This will only be for the street with maybe an autocross or two. What do you suggest? Oh, and I have a 99 GSR. Thanks.

Valvoline SynPower. Readily available at any car parts place. It will do very well for street and occasional Auto-X.

I agree with what ALF said...if you think you might ever do a track day, spend the extra few dollars and use Motul 600 or ATE Super Blue.

Depends on how often you take it to the track.

Sounds to me like you should use the Valvoline stuff the others have suggested. Easy to find, cheap, and doesn't suck up water like Motul.

Just random info, Ate is pronounced "AH-tay". It's like Swedish or something.

I use the Valvoline Synpower fluid (I used to use Castrol LMA) and have had no problems with it ... but then my car has no ABS. I last swapped my fluid out in 1998 and it is still not dark in my resevoir. I might change it out again this year ... not sure.

Like it was said before, the racing fluids may deal with heat better, but they don't deal with moisture as well as the more 'streetable' fluids. If you use one, be prepared to drain it more often.

I found Castrol LMA to be fine ... but since they've been screwing around with their Syntec motor oil formulas, I stopped buying anything with their name on it.
