Tell him your calling from Honda-tech & that "mike" from honda-tech spoke to him
(probably won't remember me lol )
at Sema regarding the check engine light problem on 06 civic's
and if there is anything he can do to rectify this.

I just talked to him and he said that he would have a tech call me back.
He also said that he did remember you and he asked how i got his number and i told him that you gave it to me, cause he didnt want his extension posted on the website.
Thanks Mike

Well they are trying to fix the situation.
I put the above poster in touch with the PRESIDENT of AEM.
So the ball is rolling.
Now... if you yourself are willing to physically GO to the aem facility for them to check out what causes your codes.... that would benefit you and all other ex owners.
When i was at sema and spoke to the pres of AEM , he was willing to accept a members car with the problem to solve it.
So where the product IS causing an issue....they really aren't being "dicks" about it since they are willing to try to fix

well its like they say oh ill do it and it never happens , i never expected from such company to do someting like this unless it clearly would of said that chances are that cel might come up then theirs a diffrent story , i mean its aem not only they should have useful tech's which they dont but they should be more reliable , so if they are going to fix it im just waiting for a fix but what are they going to do ? a thought do you have ?

I posted up the SEMA thread here AND on 8thcivic , and said
IF ANYONE HAS A CEL IN CALI... with an AEM CAI... they will look at it for your to help out the rest of us...
Did ANYONE PM, IM, EMail call me?....... No
So I doubt if AEM doesn't hear about the problems..they are gonna randomly call the people that bought the products and ask how its doing.
As for the fix... No Idea... I'm a Treasurer in Securities Lending not AEM.

Lets wait to see what the original poster gets done.
If nothing i'll make some calls.

Its things like this and the cel with the DC race header that have kept me from installing the CAI, header and exhause on the 06 Si.
That being said, it's not completely AEM's fault in that Honda hasn't made things any easier in their latest cars with the DBW, and the use of a mass flow sensor in addition to the/a MAP sensor.
Just bought a built 98 ITR to have some fun with at the track (roadcourse), and am leaving the Si stock for a while longer.

I called the president earlier and he said that he would give my info to a tech person and have him call me; that was at 12:15 EST and I heard nothing back from him all day. However I did contact a tech guy on my own and he said to find out what code is coming up and fill out a warranty form and send it back. I took it down to autozone to get the code read but there reader couldnt connect and i dont want to take it to the dealer cause there going to void the warranty. So now i'm really stuck in a hard place.....
I installed the CAI myself...yes I am a mechanic, I work on Harley Davidsons...the battery was disconnected, I didnt mess around with the Mass Flow Sensor, i didnt forget to tighten any fittings, everything was perfect...except for the CEL.
The only reason I can think that the CEL is coming on is something with the Mass Flow Sensor, maybe its having the engine run lean or something. So i unplugged the battery at 4 o'clock and will leave it off until i go to work in the morning and hope for the best.
Anymore thoughts would be helpful.
Thanks
i dont know why geirmo send ppl warranty info and crap , he doesnt respond to my emails and more likely they wont contact you.... and if they do its going to be a dead end ****
that dude ( only 1 tech) and me have been talking 30+ mins the 2nd day i noticed the cel and he said all crap and what not and fianly ended our call with " everyting wil be solved once you can get me the cel code" so i do and then he comes up with some other crap and it ends up no where....

Reseting the ECU will do nothing for the code. It will still be there till a Honda HDS reads and removes the code. Even if you go a few drive cycles and the light goes off it will still store the code. The new PCM/ECM is writeable not like the older Hondas people are used to. You can't reset codes from unplugging the battery.
