N1ghtM0nkey CRX Project Log (56k beware)
Hey guys,
Me and this CRX have been through a lot. I've owned it for almost 2 years now and in that 2 years it's been wrecked twice, been through numerous interior changes and additions, been broken into, beat some really fast cars it shouldn't have, and it's been through two winters (coming up on three). I've also driven it through about half of the states in this country on my way to CB7Tuner meets and other such ordeals. It's seen Chicago, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Louisville, Nashville, Asheboro (NC), and atleast one city in Texas (that's where it came from). This is my second honda and my first EF...so I'm quite partial to it. Needless to say, it's been through a lot.
Anyways my CRX came into my care on a cold, rainy night in February of 2005. I found it in the Honda-Tech classified ads and my brother decided to co-sign on a small loan for me so I could pick it up without delay.
Here's part of my CRX's story.
Here's the condition I picked it up in:

After I picked it up:

While it was a Texas car (those pictures are of it in Texas) it had no rust, but it had obviously been in a decent little accident. The car came with a B16 swap already installed with a Y1 transmission and PR3 ECU. It is a 1991 HF and came with most of the rear interior missing.
A few weeks later I found a front bumper (which turned out to be in about the same shape) and a Zdyne swap ECU that made the car run...maybe a little better.

I had big plans for the car and I was off to a good start. I purchased quite a few parts to rebuild the front end and get it back on track. It had a horrible alignment problem.

After installing all of the parts (except axles) the camber issue I had was not fixed and my toe issue was only made worse.
The other wheel was straight in this picture:

I managed to temporarily alleviate the camber problem on one side with a camber kit, but the other side could not be dialed in.

I later found out that the knuckles were damaged in the *little* accident my car was in before I bought it. I also found rear frame damage that cost $160 to fix. Now the car is perfectly aligned in the front end after changing the knuckles.
Then some douchebag decided to steal my cluster and shroud:

$93 later it was fixed

Then my lugnuts decided to back off one day and my driver side front tire went flying off the car and into a lake. I managed to fish it out. Total damage included one lower ball joint and one front fender along with the trim on the fender.

Soon after this I lost my job and took it to the North Carolina all member CB7 Tuner meet.

That would make it the 2nd CB7 Tuner all member meet it made it to. Here's a pic of it at the TN meet a year earlier.

Seeing as how I went to the NC meet without having a job, I spent a lot of money I didn't have. I also figured a lot of things out on the 17 hour drive there, which eventually led me to my decision to enlist in the United States Marine Corps.
Unfortunately the USMC didn't work out for me and I was sent home due to medical complications in boot camp. Shortly after returning from boot camp I was out driving the car on a nice evening when a 2005 Cadillac CTS decided to rear end me:

Here's what it looked like before the accident after I picked up a set of wheels from JLB Motorsports

And that's where the project stands for now. My plans are to return the car to the condition it was in the day I took the above picture, plus a few other adjustments and modifications.
Here's what I've got planned for the next few months and maybe the next year:
Wings West style body kit
Brand new OEM quarter panel
Finish up the suspension work (bushings, etc)
Suspension modifications (lowering, strut bars, etc)
Finish the interior (add carpet and new seats)
And finally the last big modification I'll be doing to the car for awhile is the turbo kit. I've got about half of the parts I'll need to turbocharge the car and I've got a little money saved up for the rest. I'm hoping to get anywhere between 240-260whp from 10 psi on the stock block. The turbo I'll be using is a modified T3 which will start life as a 48/60 and I'm going to see what I can do about upgrading the compressor side to a larger one and putting a better wheel in the turbine side of it.
I'll add pictures of my turbo stuff later on, and any other pictures I can find.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my project thread and check back often because this is an active work in progress.

Here's a couple videos I haven't posted on this forum yet. I've got 3 more in the videos section in this forum.
Me vs. Modified stage 1 SRT-4 (not 100% sure on what mods, drag radials for sure though)
Me vs. My buddy's '02 Mustang GT (stock)

Bumpin this up cause I've had even more bad luck with the car. Believe it or not it got hit AGAIN in my own driveway.
I've been in and out of work ever since I returned from boot camp, but now I'm back in school and I've got a good paying full time job lined up.
Unfortunately I had to sell all of the nice turbo parts I had lined up to pay the bills and keep food in the fridge, but now that things are turning around good things are going to start happening for the car.
On the bright side I've been doing a good job of fighting off rust in the rear quarter panels and the rest of the car so repairing it shouldn't be that big of a deal. The engine still runs like a champ and is just about ready for a timing bet and water pump (per regular maintenance).
I'll have pictures and updates soon, hope to have the body repaired and in a fresh coat of paint before the end of the year.
