91 Accord EXR cooling system woes!!
I have a 91 EXR. There seems to be something wrong with the cooling system cause it keeps pusing the coolent into the overflow. It will only push about enough to fill the overflow container and that's it. I thought it might be a bad thermostat but I changed that but it keeps doing it. I know the water pump is good cause I checked it when I recently replaced the crank shaft and pully. Anyone have any ideas cause my brain is getting fried trying to figure this one out!
Any overheat problems? I'd suggest a new radiator cap. I've seen those radiator necks get distorted from overheating, thats why I asked.
Also it could be the radiator is getting plugged up, but you should consider that the coolant expands when hot and will raise the level of the overflow bottle, but with a good rad cap the coolant level in the overflow bottle should drop some when the engine cools off.

No overheating problems yet. It only ever overheated once when I blow the heater hose and lost all the fluid. I'll try the new radiator cap. Thanks!!
you probably have air in your cooling system. you need to burp it bro. fill it up with water take your radiator cap off cut it on and let it bubble while you slowly add more water. do this until it stops bubbling then cap it and see what happens.
these accords are very tempermental when they have air in the cooling system. if you hasve any qs let me kno
