Default what would be a good vtec crossover point B16b with a GSR head ???

my setup is a stock B16b block mated with a Gsr head
i have a 68 mm throttlebody sk2 pro manifold dc 421 headers and 2 1/4 exaust

trying to save up for a good tune but until then ...

i have a chipped ecu running mild program

off hand does anyone have a good vtec crossover point ??

currently it crosses at 5300 rpm but i think it would be stronger if it was around 4800 or 4900

any input would be helpful thanks

i wish it was that easy... i really think it varies too much to be able to tell you but if you want my .02 its this: my b16b is similar and crosses over at 6k its perfect... i personally dont think you have enough done to warrent a change in vtec crossover... keep it at 6k thats the stock cross over according to my pos factory tach and ctr ecu...

edit: oops i didnt realise you porably have gsr cams, i withdraw my comment about the 6k crossover...

yea they are gsr cams

i tend to feel a dip in power from 5300 to about 5700 after vtec then it will start to pull again

if i were to lower the vtec to lets say 5000 with another chip would it start to pull sooner like ???

i have a buddy that hooks it up with chips

the reason is bacause when i shift from second to third on my gsr transmission it leaves me at about 4500 rpm out of my power band

thanks sorry if i sound like a noob

what rpm you shiting at that lands you at 4500? dont forget the factory tach is not accurate so you might think your at 8000 but you could be at 7500, best way to check is hit the revlimiter one time and you'll know how inaccurate yours is, my si cluster for instance shows 9100rpm but im really only at 8600...
