doing timing without lower timing belt cover?

Default doing timing without lower timing belt cover?

is it possible an how? i made the mistake of putting my motor in without the timing belt cover. i have it but i know its gonna be really hard to put it on now. whats the best way to do this if you cant time the motor without the belt cover

you mean you are trying to time the enigine but don't have any reference marks?
the pulley that the t-belt ride on has a very tiny mark, you can then match that to a tiny mark on the block..... maybe that helps.

no, you must have the crank pulley mark and the timing cover marks to set timing.

Only thing I could think of is with an adjustable timing light and looking at the marks on the crank sprocket and oil pump mark...but this would not be accurate enough.

just put the cover back on! No reason to have it off...PERIOD!

so if i have to take off the pulley what is the best way without turning over th motor?

just take the bolt out the center of the crank pulley, install cover, and reinstall pulley. then set the timing.

impact gun, long breaker bar while jamming the flywheel, moroso/Honda crank pulley holder. It's fine if the engine moves a little while you break the bolt loose

whats the best way to jam the flywheel? the motor is in the car and the tranny is on... bassicly this is all i need to do before i start the car
