As big as you want, but reliablity is another story and piston selection.

83mm is good for a build.

unless your doing most of the work yourself, it may be more worth your while to just buy an LS or GSR block

you can go all the way to 86mm if resleeved. but the sleeves are very thin at that point and you should only go this big if you're building a race only engine. 85mm would be the biggest you should go for a street car. stock sleeves you can go to 82mm.

Actually, a 83mm B16 has 1675.32cc's.

just think of it as the bigger you go the thinner the walls go ,and the bigger the chance for crackeing stock sleaves

I found a mint gsr block for 600.00. Had to buy the whole longblock but selling the head and wire harness left me with a b18c1 block for 6 bills.

Also if not mistaken the b18c is still 81 mm the .2 difference is made up in rod/stroke and/or piston rod height.
Correct me if I am wrong on this as I don't stand behind that, it is just my understanding.
Then if you bored the 1.8 to a 84 mm I believe you would get around a 2.0L.
I haven't touched my 18c block yet as I am still learning tuning on my b16 and if I fry that I won't be hurt and have a fresh block on reserve.
