just ordered springs, shocks, and tires!!! (long)
i purchased h&r sports, koni yellows, and falken azenis in 205/50/15
anybody else have a similar setup?? im really excited to finally b gettin my ride lowered since its had the 4X4 treatment for about 10 months now
after i get this installed ill be upgrading the rear sway bar and new upper front and rear strut bars. i cant wait!!! stock i am not pleased with my gs-r at all, i swear my 90 LS at times feels more stable and stiffer in corners (its 100% stock). the gs-r just seems to have WAY too much body roll. i was thinkin of having diablo autosports install everything since i dont have a srping compressor or the nesseccary tools. any suggestions or reccommendations on shops for lowering in the bay area?? also i got the tires from tires.com for 74 each w/ free shippin and was wondering if that "free repacement" thing they offer (its 7.40 a tire) is worth it??? this is my first time buying tires online and 7.40 isnt much. i have 30 days from date of purchase to put that "guarantee" on the tires. sorry for the long post and thanks in advance for any help.
joe- who can't wait to get rid of the 4X4 look

..my only regret are my toyo t1s's..i should have looked into getting the 205-50..or gone for some 16" wheels. it feels like i've lost some steering response, or feedback from my wheel. anyone else get the same feeling after getting new tires?
oh yeah, congrats once more

YES
they are worth it. I used to work for DTC and they have the best no hassle replacement warrenty I have found. As long as there is legal tread depth (2/32") if the tire is un-repairable, DTC will replace that tire. All you have to do is pay the $7.40 for certificates on the new tire. I buy all of my tires from DTC, but maybe that is because I can usually get great deals. Also, you can buy certificates on tires that you did not purchase at DTC. A friend of mine bought some tires with less than 200 miles on them from a co-worker. I got his set-up with a DTC inspection and $7.00 certs.

The only thing that comes to my mind about that free tire replacement thing (I've bought two sets of tires from Discount Tire for the old car), is what if you have lots of miles on your tires before something happens? Are you then stuck with 3 used tires and 1 new tire? That doesn't seem too safe in my mind.
And about loss of steering response, that is possible with new tires because of the deeper tread than worn tires, which will allow the tread blocks to flex more, a.k.a. tread squirm. I think there was some discussion about it in the Technobabble column of SCC a couple years back.

Now that is a good way to spend some $
Where did you get your Koni's from? I have 2 fat paychecks coming and I need to blow my money on some Koni's/Comptech's.
Please post pics when they are installed!
