remove the tranny oil plug and put your finger in the hole. If you feel fluid you have enough

its usually a 17 mm bolt head. just fill it up when its level untill it pours out and replace the plug. If its a hydraulic tranny i would reccomend only honda trans fluid. some tempratures they dont like anything else and will start grinding.

I don't mean to sound stupid, but this has been bothering me. Do the manual transmissions require tranny fluid? if so is that how I check it by sticking my finger in that hole? And if its low do I put oil or "Transmission fluid" in it?

Seriously though, I know that sounded dumb but I've had my hatch for over a year now without putting any tranny fluid in and I have had about 0 problems with it.

It's definitely full, or he'd have a broken tranny by now.
