5th Gen: Clutch Damper? My fluid is leaking.....
My clutch hasn't been holding any pressure whatsoever, its a leak.... And its leaking from somwhere under the intake itsself or intake mani. I replaced leaking slave today, master cylinder is good.....
My question is, what the hell is this clutch damper I'm hearing about? Where is it exactly? And do I need this thing?
Removing the intake allows me to see down and there is a block with (I belive) 4 lines comming from it. Two are the clutch lines. Is this the damper? It is on the passenger frame rail, just above and -aft- of the gearbox. I think this may be the problem, but I need some advice on fixing this correctly... The other two lines seem like brake lines (as much as I could follow in the dark).
This thing seems completely useless and it seems to be the culprit, can I get rid of it!?!
Thanks for any advice.
Michael

Pull you intake off and look for the rubber part of your clutch line. Follow that line back alittle and you will see a circle shaped metal piece that the hard line goes into. Thats your dampener, theres not much else around it to confuse it with.
You can get rid of it. Clutch damper removal: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1210919
If you just want to fix the leak, I would get some flare nut wrenches and just tighten all the fittings.

I dont see how it would make it more responsive by running a stainless line. I would think it would make the clutch feel more spongy because there will be more line swelling vs the hardline. The only part that is rubber on the stock line is about 15 inchs right by the trans.

It feels about the same honestly. I took mine out just clear out all that crap from the engine bay and make it easier to get around in there.
