misfiring in every cyl.
i am getting a misfire code on all four cylinders. the car is a 98 ej8. plugs and wires are ngk and under a year old, and just replaced the factory coil. 02 sensor is about a month old. the car has approx. 140,000 miles on it. what could it possibly be, or is it just that i have a stage 2 crower cam?

When you changed your factory coil, did you unplug your plug wires from your dizzy cap? And if so, did you make sure you put them back on in the proper order so they would be firing correctly?
Cylinder 1 on your left... cylinder 4 on your right
looking at the dizzy from passenger side:
4 2
3 1

yes i did, it most likely wouldnt even run if that was the case. it runs fine the CEL just comes on. and i have reset the ECU since installing the coil. the coil was an attempt at fixing this misfire problem. anything else?
you pretty much answered your own question.. do you have an aftermarket cam gear? what is your cam timing at? Ignition timing? My guess is after your tuned your CEL will go away

I agree that it may not even run but if 2 cylinders were correctly wired and 2 were swapped, 2 functional cylinders would be enough to keep the engine going but you would be able to hear it distinctly. You said a CEL on all 4 cylinders so rule that out.
It's highly possible that your timing is just off. An aggressive aftermarket cam could make for a rough idle, but shouldn't cause misfire CELs to be thrown.
When did you start seeing the CELs and was there any coincidence with anything just installed?

starting getting one for just cyl 3 shortly after having the cam installed. i have no aftermarket gear and crower said that at stock timing the cam would be correct. i have replaced the plugs and wires within the past year and the new coil a week ago. the only things coinciding with the CEL would be a header (which is no longer on my car, got a new one) and the cam.
maybe timing got messed up somehow? would that cause this?

i do in fact have access to one. could i try and correct it by advancing/retarding the dizzy? or would it be best to take it off and put it back on with cyl one at top dead center or whatever it is.

knew that but didnt know to what degree i could advance/retard

you would use a timing light to properly "set" the timing and then would need to "reset" the ecu by either pulling the fuses for a few minutes or disconnecting ground for a few minutes(better have your radio stations memorized, lol)

It's highly possible that when the cam was installed your timing belt was put back onto the cam gear lined up on the wrong teeth, so that would account for incorrect timing. Was timing checked after the install?
