Default Where to start - performance tweaks '04 Accord EX V-6 MT

Visual mods in progress:

1st
I want new rims. A dark graphite color (not black), but really dark graphite look.

2nd.
Widows are getting tinted as black as they can legally be (3M tint)

3rd.
Lowering the car 1.5 - 2 inches. Im not sure exactly how low to go bc I dont want to bottom out over speed bumps.

NOW PERFORMANCE!

So where do you start?

Do you go for the exhaust system? I dont want my car sounding like a tin can... any advice is appreciated.

Do you go for engine mods?

Do you go for sway bars?

Where do you start?

The car has 240 HP or so... I want it to be quicker from 0-60 but not effect top speed (I rarely go over 80 to be honest) and I dont want to completely kill the 34 mpg I am getting.

Im a car newbie... pls help!

for performance wise. i say mayb a good intake system and a good ground kit for now. not loud but hp friendly. to be honest there is alot of **** u can do to increase hp and the gallons per mile. but simple setup intake, ground, and exhoust (keep the cat)

No way in hell Im putting a body kit on my car - looked in to it and it devalues the car... not to mention there arent any body kits made that look worth a damn for an 04 coupe yet.

OEM lip kit is as clean as they get. I think he meant electrical ground wiring kit, not ground effect kit.

V6s do not get 34 mpg. 4 cyl 5spds get 26 city 34 highway. Good Try.

Yes they do. My 98 accord LX V6 got slightly over 34MPG at 75mph

My current car gets 34MPG at 65, 32 at 75 and this thing is a 300+HP beast.... (2002 CL type S with headers and intake)

All depends upon how you drive your car

my 94 accord got 34 at 80mph........

CBL9 youre an idiot
the posted specs for the car have highway miles at 31 and thats estimated.

a manual transmission like mine, pending how I drive it, can reach 38 mpg.

please shut the expletive up unless you have something constructive to add to the thread thats NOT out of ignorance.

No headers for your V6 car since the exhaust collectors are cast into the cylander head. you can replace the J pipe and do a axle back.

Rims? Get some light weight ones

Tien makes a good kit so does eldebrock and SS for lowering car

type S sway bars or aftermarket

The type S strut bar may fit and if it does it's only $50

to get some performance you will have to go turbo or SC and that will involve some major fab work and CASH

Larger brakes might be a good idea......

I would not do anything to the engine, because I don't think you will gain much performance there. For accessories, check this site out (link below) they have OEM accessories at good prices. The 17" wheels are one thing I was thinking about. Happy Hondaing

The only mod availiable for the accord is just intake, cat back exhaust and pulley. If you want turbo or sc it has to be custom. As far as suspension comptech make a rear sway bar that suppose to work really well. Tein coilover are good.

Trust me when I tell you, there is very little aftermarket support. Most people buying this car to mod it end up trading it in for a g35. http://www.v6p.net has a bigger forum dedicated to 7th gen, go there and search around.

SC is supercharger, which cost plenty (great hp gains, if you've got the money for it). Intake, not enough hp to notice. Exhaust, the exhaust on the car is plenty good, and it would cost plenty for one that would actually be an improvement. This is all just my opinion of course, so do what you want, after all it's your car.

So basically a turbo or SC is the only way to gain noticable performance difference in the car?

yes but it will cost you 5k and more to do this since everything is custom fabricated. Seems that you want to go fast for less so why not try NO2

Nahh no NOS

I was just wondering what you could do for reasonable cost to give the car a little more pep than it has.

I think Ill just stick to style, and if I feel ambitous Ill do the exhaust system
