ok let me break it down for you all. 92 civic dx with mini me swap. i bought the car after it was sitting outside in the rain without a hood and broken window water getting in the engine compartment and soaking the floors. and now after i put a new engine in it. It will not turn over. I have checked all the grounds, wiring. when i checked my main relay it clicked when i turn the key on and then clicks again. The fuel pump does prime and im getting fuel. i just took the dizzy off a running civic. When i turn the key on and the main relay clicks the check engine light does not turn on and off like it is suppose to what could be the problem. any information is helpful thank you

ecu is toast from moisture. if when you first turn key to on position the engine light doesnt come on , than theres a prolem.

but if the check engine light doesn't turn on is it most likely or for sure the ecu?

 

well its a bad sign. its supposed to , and if that light isnt comming on after the moiture being in the car like that , could have fried ecu , its in bad spot for that. do the other lights on the dash work when you turn key to on? could be light burnt out. spark test it , take plugs out , fire the wire on them , hold them to ground , turn it over. check them after turning it over for a bit , see if they are wet with fuel.

 

all of the interior and exterior lights work fine

 

yeah but there not on the floor , lol. hard to say man. see if you got spark.

 

how am i gonna check if i do not have spark or not if the damn thign doesn't even turn over. i got the dizzy off an automatic car which should not matter. the only thing i have not done is hooked up a ground to the valve cover is taht really gonna make it not start. i have check ecu main relay grounds except valve cover all fuses, under hood and under dash ignition is good. idk guys help me

 

oh it doesnt even turn over , lol , sorry dude. i missed that. check chassis grounds. check starter power wire(and signal wire). check fuses. when you turn the key to start it(start position) , does the dash lights go out? use a multi meter to test the current the starter draws when key is turned to start , see if its seized. few things to try anyways dude.
