Axle Replacement.... B series swap 94 Hatch...
Ok well my driver side cv boot broke and yea... needless to say its time for a new axle. I had a extra set laying around from my buddies type r swap in his 00 SI but those wont work for me. The driver side axle on my b16 in my hatch is alot longer and also has a 3 bolt bracket. What axles do you use for a b16 swap?

It's "a lot longer" because it's two pieces. The "Intermediate Shaft" is the half that terminates in the three-bolt bracket. The halfshaft disengages from that area.
Figure it out. It's not hard. The Type-R axles will work just fine.

here is a picture of the rear of a B16 with the jack shaft bolted to the motor and axle removed. It should give you an idea of how it comes apart.
(hopefully picture isnt too big)

From the hub/brakes, you see the axle go in.
The axle will be stuck into the large metal bracket thing.
It's easy to spot, it's the only thing that the axle will go into. you will see a very slight opening, you want to take a pry bar and pry it out.
theres a pic on hondatech somewhere...

If the old axle is fooked, just take a hammer and give a quick wack in the direction that it comes apart to the inner CV joint while holding the jack shaft. There is a snap ring inside that keeps it from easily comming apart.
thanks for everyones help, i got the job done yesterday and i gotta say after you guys told me how to seperate the two shafts it was easy as hell...

For future reference, it's MUCH easier to seperate the two when the intermediate shaft is still bolted to the block
