Rear seat removal and fuel sending unit help needed
My fuel gauge is not working properly in my 1994 Accord. I believe its my fuel sending unit. Can someone tell my how to remove the rear seat. I believe that is were the sending can be access.
I would look behind the rear seat on the passenger side for a round cover plate.
But, to answer your question. The rear seat has a 10mm bolt about the center of the seat where the back and seat bottom meet, you'll have to cram your fingers in the crack to find it, then use a socket and extension to get the bolt out. Then you fold the seat foward and it has wire hooks that fit in slots at the front. Now you can grab up all the loose change people have lost over the years.

Hondadude--Thanks for the help. I got the rear seat out (bottom cushion) but did not see the round plate. Is the sending unit in the trunk or behind the back cushion????
You should be able to see it once the bottom part of the seat is out. It'll be a circular plate that's a different color then the cars color. You physically have to take it apart to be able to get into the tank.
last time I checked on my parents 01 Accord(it should be the same) take out the whole cover in the trunk. The one that is covering the spare tire. There should be 1 screw or clip holding it down to the trunk floor. You'll see it.
I vote for in the trunk. If the cover plate has that black sticky gum holding it down along with some hardware, DO NOT get gas on the gum and then let it drip into the tank, the whole tank will be colored black then traces of gum will get in your pump sock and your fuel filter. Put some plastic wrap on the gum before you remove the float unit. If no gum, then NEVER MIND.
Here's a link where Honda-Pro explains how to test the wires. Good luck

94-97 fuel sender is under rear seat 98+ in the trunk
If so, I beleive that you can replace th sender without dropping the tank but if your fuel pump is out, then you gotta drop the tank...
