engine hone piston q's
If im going to get new pistons, and i plan to hone my engine, would i need to get a bigger piston? the Piston's im buying are 81mm and the block is 81, but by honeing the engine would it make the block bigger than 81???
a hone doesnt remove enough material from the bore to matter
it just provides a pattern on the cylinder walls to ensure that the rings seat good and seal to the wall

i was talking to a machine shop, they said that they would hone if for 45 dallors, but i have to take the moter out of the car, He said it would be 100 dallors to bore it,
would it be worth just going ahead and boreing the engine? bc i read that u dont have to pull the motor out to hone it

If you are rebuilding the motor, take out and do it right. The motor will need to cleaned and have all the small honing crap flushed out of it before you can reassemble it.
im not rebuilding it, i just got it from h motore and did the swap,
but now i have money for high comp pistons and everyone said to hone b4 u put pistons in it,

yes you will want to hone it, because you want the new rings to seat
now if you want to bore it thats your decision, but you will need bigger pistons, and you will have to give the machine shop the pistons with the block so they can get the bore right
overboring the block will result in more compression and more displacment, so you could possibly get more power from it
