Car: 94 Accord 160k, coupe Keyless entry, alarm

I just fixed my driver door cos it wouldn't want to lock but another problem still perisits. When i lock the doors, either from the door or from my keychain, the passenger side door makes a scheeching sound coming from the acuator area. Sometimes it makes the noise once, sometimes 3 or 4 times. The door still locks right away but the noise will continue for 3-4 seconds after its locked. Should I get another actuator to see if that solves the noise.? Totoally lost on this one so if anyone could help thanks.

 

is it a LOUD sound or a sligtly low sound, cause my 97 coupe makes a slight sound when the doors lock wheather i lock the doors from the inside and out. sounds like it could be the motor and its normal.

No, its LOUD and it aint normal I can tell you that. My driver door does make a small sound and I know thats normal but this is loud and doesnt sound good. Great if anyone can help. Im thinking about just putting a new actuator in.

 

I've heard door lock actuators make such schreeching noises when they're starting to go bad. I'd try my luck with a new actuator first.

 

Any suggestions about where to get replacement actuators? OEM or aftermarket? Thanks for the replies guys!

 

When you get it out, take it apart and you'll see the retaining tab for the spring is broken loose. Cut a shim of some type to put between the plastic tab and the housing; epoxy it in place; then put it back together after the epoxy sets up.
