Default Refinshing factory wheels.

I ask this in here cause it's specificly pertaining to the R. I bought my R new in 2K & over time the wheels take quite a beating & showing several areas where the gunmetal finish is chipping off. Is there a reputable place to get the wheels restored to the facory color? Also about how much? Thanks.

I just cleaned a spare set I had, I plan on taking them to get powder-coated

The factory finish is just painted on. Just take the paintcode to a body shop and they can respray the wheels. Do the prep work yourself and it shouldn't be too much money.

Thanks guys. Kinda give some ideas about maybe changing the finish. A car I had some years ago had factory alloys & I had them bead blasted, not sand blasted. All came out to a really nice machine finished look but I'm a bit skeptical about doing it to my R. Whacha-think?

Look at Pg. 2 of my thread... I used a bead blaster as well. Here's some pictures from my thread if you're too lazy.

Bead blasted...

Stripped, Bead Blasted, Polished...

Bead Blasted, light 1,000 Grit, light polishing...

Mounted...

Installed...

You can get yours MUUUUUCH brighter, I'm repolishing mine right now. Using an electric sander with 800, 1,000, 2,000 and Mother's Aluminum and Mag Polish with the Mother's Powerball... Should be REALLY blingin' after that.

Thanks a million fella!!! That really gave me boost in the liking of that finish! I really like the 1/2 bling look & not the (BLING BLING!!!) look. Not quite too much shine. Once again thanks for the pics.
