I was told a b16 lsd tranny but want to know for sure.

yes S80 is the later B18C box, came out after the Y80 with slightly shorter ratios.

 

just look through and make sure its lsd

 

my gsr trans says s80, look though diff to see if LSD or not.

 

s80 is not b16, its either gsr or type r

 

was 1200 does that matter?

at 70 mph I tack 4000 any ideas?

Its a JDM trans i think. I got it from a local shop qouting it was a b16 lsd tranny , maybe type r?

 

honda is stupid. s80 can be like 48 different trannies. i CAN be a JDM CTR tranny w/lsd yes. it can also be a GSR/ITR/LS tranny also. best way to tell like other people said, look throigh the differential and if you can see right through it its LSD, if its got a metal rod going through it, you got jacked.

 

actually, if its doing 4K at 70 its not a B16 tranny of any type. sounds like a GSR to me.

yes s80 is gsr or ls, if its not lsd,you paid to much.

what size tires do you have on your car?

BTW, it sounds like you may have a JDM ITR trans.

 

stock GSR with stock wheels will do 4k @ 80mph, put a b16 trans into an Integra it will do 4k @ 70mph. These are oem trans figures. If it has been opened up or if the wheels are not stock sizing all that will come into play.

 

S80 can be the following:

96-up GSR
96-up LS (be careful)
96-up TYPE R both JDM or USDM

They all have this tag code...be careful.

AN S80 is <U>not</U> a B16!

Y80 is all hydro Integra 94-95 5spd transmissions...GSR and LS.

CTR will have a tag code of S4C with an LSD. This is also the same tag code of the 99-00 Civic Si which does not have an LSD.

I took the axle out found out it does have a lsd. here's my new question. will a oem lsd hold 400 hp and launching on slicks?

 

cant argue with the guys who build trannies for a living i guess. i always thought S4C was CTR but all the information ive ever seen posted claimed a CTR tranny could be labeled S80.
