So i picked up this 4 door and only the top half of the window defrosts. Does one side of the contact defrost the top and the other contact the bottom? Both of the contacts are plugged in the wires in the window dont look broken what do you guys think the problem could be?

I believe the circuit goes across the window. You have a break in the circuit somewhere. Either at the point the wires connect to the foil on the left or right side, or a break in the foil on the glass.

You need to inspect it carefully. If the foil is broken, maybe an alarm shop could supply you with a fix. Basically, it's a type of conductive "paint" you put across the break after carefully scraping the protective coating away.

 

sorry but i have to thread jack, if the wires in the window are fine and the plugs are pluged in but the rear defrost still wont work is it most likely the plug that is gone?

 

ok but its only on half the window not the whole window the top half works This is what stumps me
