Default 94 accord windsheild defroster sucks! Help!

My front windsheild defroster sucks. I hardly ever drive my Accord anymore but I decided to take it to get my wife some ice cream one night. That night it was pouring down rain and my defroster was not doing ANYTHING! I mean it was pityful. I live out in the country and almost wrecked several times because I couldn't see. It really scared me to the point where I don't want to drive it until it's fixed. What happens if I'm out and it starts raining? What if my kids are with me? I'm screwed.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

What is the real problem? No air flow? steam on the windshield?
Fan not running ?
if the inside of the windshield is getting steamed up, you might want to try turning on the A/C to dehumidify the air.
your GM car turns on the A/C when you switch to defrost, the Honda does not.

Aren't you suppose to press the defroster, then turn the **** all the way to heat (orange), then Med-High fan and let it sit for a few minutes?

My 6th gen automatically turns on the A/C; it really helps.

Yeah so I've done all that. the fan runs but no air flow. I turn on the A/C and still nothing. Matter fact, I rolled all the windows down and half froze to death and my windows were still foggy.

try running the fresh air mode, (usually green backlight), a/c also helps while using fresh air, may need to be controlled this way manually. start with really clean windshield. one part white vinegar, 10 parts water in spray bottle. cover dash areas, spray, wipe off with old newspaper. no joke. start with clean slate. defrost should operate better.

When you change from floor to dash-vents to defrosters, does that make any difference?

And like the last guy says, DO NOT use re-circulation when you're trying to clear the windows. You need fresh air, not re-using the same wet air.
