Default Confused about Maintenance Required light

My car is displaying Maintenance Required (Main Req), a yellow light on the dash bored. The car is running okay, and it did not send back any codes on the dianogistic tool. I tried unhooking the negative termial on the battery to reset the computer and the light remained on. I don't have the owners manual or anything to reference, but its 96-GSR if that helps.

Thanks for any help you can give.
