Default Rebuild it or scrap it

Sup all. I have a 94 Accord EX that i run with clubs on road courses. this last October i was at road america and i was having all sorts of issues with my engine and it has never run well since that weekend. So i need to do something about the engine before i think of going on the track with it again. I am trying to decide between an H22 swap or rebuild a cheap junk F22 with some new parts. I work at a Carquest with a machine shop in the back so the machine work will be done for free. I just don't know that bigger pistins and a valve job will be worth much extra horsepower (not that would be the only thing i would do). on the other hand I am looking at a good 2 grand for a proper H22 swap. I am only going to be running the car for another year or two till i spring for a civic whch will be a dedicated racer once i am better. I don't know much about the inner workings and how much they can effect engine performance. Any suggestions or stories will be helpful. PS unless i suck at searching i didn't find anything that helpful in the archives.

H22, flat out better motor and when your done with it, you can sell it to some 16 year old that has his daddy's money.
