Default Boost on a D15B2

Anyone have experience boosting a D15B2? I know that internals are not the strongest, or most pratical. I'm in the process of saving/hunting for a D16 to swap in once winter is over.
Question, has anyone ever boosted a D15 with DPFI or done it with the MPFI swap? What's a safe boost level to stay at so I don't blow the motor? I know tuning is a HUGE part in reliability, but there has to be a limit somewhere....

That motor took sooo much abuse, After i got it from my buddy who ran tons of nitrous through it I got it and boosted the hell out of it; 8 for a while then 14 for almoust 2 months. Only blew a head gasket

Mpfi Conversion of course...
Obd1 conversion and Chrome Tune...
390cc DSM injectors

Crappy old Video on 8 psi:

I had a D15B2 running TurboEDIT and 390 cc injectors. I boosted 12-15 psi in Colorado for over six months before the number four rod broke in half. I had a few boost spike to 20 psi and it detonated so hard that the motor shut off, and started right back up. Lots of people say the rods are the size of sharpie markers but with proper tuning those D15 engines rip!

^^Really? I've been reading everywhere that the rods are very weak lke you said, which in turn has put me off about boosting the motor. Especially since it has 180k on it. If I were to use a SAFC, is there a place where I can see what general settings I could use just so I can safely "taste" boost? I would definetly go to chipping my ECU and running turbo edit or Chrome when I change the motor, and have more $$ to play around with.

Just curious is this D15B the same as the JDM D15B with VTEC? I have this motor and have been considering some boosted SOHC action.

no, 2 different motors. I want to say the D15B vtec is similar to the d16z6 and the other tougher motors.
