Default Anyone dyno tested after completely removing IAB plate?

ok so i took out the plate today. Didnt really know what to expect but i do know that i get worse wheelspin in 1st gear now.

I read that jdogg had tested this before and gained 5whp and 5ft lbs of torque throughout the whole rpm range. But that was only by word and i would rather not rely on word. And i was thinking about taking a cutting wheel to the runners to make 4 runners instead of 8.

like this:

sorry john

nice new name buddy!! lol. I forget where i saw a dyno of somebody that blocked off the secondary runners and it basically choked when it hit VTEC. someone on ebay is selling a euroR manifold for $200. thought id let u know.

whats the bore on that 2K TB anyway? rex said that the H23 TB is a 64mm and fit up just fine on his swap, so im really considering that.

exactly right. I basically decreased the size of the "depth" of the plenum.

we're not talking about blocking the secondaries off, we want to open it up so 8 become 4 and there is no plate in between

time to pick up the dremel and go to town

If i wasn't getting cams there would be a euro r manifold waiting to go on right now.....ahh priorities priorities....

I already have a dremel. But i dont have the right bit.

so have you retuend your map at all after doing this? also did you reuse the old gasket?
i am really considering doing this but i dont want it to affect my tune. even if i did tune for it i dont think my injectors can handle another bump in fuel pressure before maxing out.

nope, haven't done any datalogging. Still trying to work out the kinks with why my wideband wont connect to my new laptop

and i just used some hondabond gasket maker. Works great. I might add that you will need to bend one of the nozzles of the iacv so it doesnt rub against the runners. I put a slight angle on mine and it clears everything now.

hmmm i wonder how this does on the topend. i could see it making better lowend torque. but i think it would essentially be less airflow into the runners.... since the IM is now smaller.
could be wrong just trying to figure it out conceptually before doing it.

Guys I'm gonna break out the hose and measuring cup in a few days, its time we actually figured out the volume of that stock plenum, the volume of the butterfly plate, and the actual runner dimensions...

That way we can run the math on this stuff and finally know....
