I hate rust/corrosion...shoot me an idea, please
So I'm working on the engine swap, and brake upgrade. I can't get the right knuckle out of the car. The lower ball joint on the actual spindle won't come out. I've tried putting a ball joint puller on it, and it just seems to be crushing the end of it. I've sprayed plenty of PB Blaster, with no prevail.
Got any ideas?

No ideas? Sledge hammer? Torch? Might try these...I'd drill through the center of the ball joint but I fear my drill bit would die before making it through/deep enough.
The axle doesn't have to be removed before that ball joint comes out, does it?

if you don't need to replace or work on it no. but it's 10x better to take the axles nut off before you raise the car to take tire off. i've done it both way it was much easier to have the axles away from the hubs.
do you have a big prybar? thats how i get mine off..just stick under there and pry up it will bust loose no problem.
a big hammer would work also but you'd need a lift to do that cause on jackstands there no way to get enough power behind your swing

Yeah, we're up on jacks in the front, and wheels are on the back.
As for that idea of a prybar, I think I'm going to see if I can find a ball-joint fork. I think this is what you refer to as a prybar...I might have the wrong name for it, actually. But basically it's a two prong fork and the prongs are wedged. You hammer it in and it goes on either side of the ball joint and it's supposed to seperate it.
My ball joing tool (it's like a U with hooks on the ends and a screw through the center) can't hook the bottom side of the balljoint anymore cuz it's so deformed.
We'll see what happens...I won't be able to get a prybar til late tonight or tomorrow.
