Default 4th Gen. Lowering Springs

If this can be found in the FAQ or by searching I apologize in advance. It's Thanksgiving and I don't have time to hunt down this info.

I've been riding around on ebay coilovers and Tokico HP's for almost two years and I'm sick of girls getting in my car and complaining about the ride and how it makes their ***** hurt. I wanna go with springs but I can't find anything that will drop me lower than 1.5". I love slammed cars and I love how my car sits now (5.5" lower than stock) and I want to stay as close to that as possible but with a [semi]smooth ride. Skunk2, Tein S, and Tanabe are all less than 1.5" so they're out. What should I go with?

I think Neuspeed Race springs are what you're looking for. They give a pretty good drop if I remember correctly.

Do you know exactly how low by any chance?

wow... poor shocks. The bounciness is coming from the shock not the springs. you are probably riding on the bump stop and do not have enough travel.

The ride is not bouncy. There is a massive difference from the stock shocks and the tokicos. It's the roads around here. They suck. Every little bump I hit sounds like my car is falling apart. My bump stops have been cut numerous times. There is plently of travel in the shocks. The springs just don't flex... too stiff.

Well, I searched, and the Neuspeed Race springs will at least drop you 1.5 inches, probably more. So if you wanna go with those, go with those.

However, if you can, I suggest that you go with the Ground Control/Koni combo.

Ok I see the neuspeed race springs are lower than the sports. Does anyone know about the ride quality of the sports vs. the races. It seems that the races would be stiffer. Am I right?

i started out w/ brand new neuspeed sports last year. VERYY nice ride, handled pretty friggin good. but didn't drop it enough

so i bought some used neuspeed races... threw them in this summer.... and have had a grin on my face the entire time. the ride is AMAZINGG considering its a 2-2.25" drop. girls have gotten into my car and been like "your car is frigging LOWW, but rides very nice!!"

if i put the AGX's on the softest setting, its a little bit stiffer than stock, but if they're on the stiffest setting.. feels like an INDY car

Sounds like I'm going with Neuspeed Races unless someone has some more info. 2.25" is still no where near the 5.5" drop that I'm at now but I don't think I'll find anything to get me lower. Thanx for the help guys.

Alright new question: Do you need a spring compressor to install neuspeed springs or are they short enough that they don't retain any tension when not under the load of a vehicle?

This is just a guess, it might be OK without the spring compressors for the front, but not for the rear. But you know a set of spring compressors can be had for under $20.... Just get a set in case you need it.

you BARELYYY need a spring compressor for the races, since the springs are so short. installing the fronts didn't need one at all since they're so short, and for the rears, i just had to put all my weight on the spring, then tighten the crown nut (or maybe its vice versa)

but you are DEFINATELY going to need a compressor to take the stock springs off, or else you will most likely get seriously injured
