Replacing clutch with a used one??? questions!!
The clutch in my car is bad and i was given an exedy stage 2 clutch that was said to have only 400 miles on it, the disc doesnt look too bad, my question is would you replace the clutch with this one? would you resurface the flywheel? or should i not use the used one and just buy a new one? i thought that using a used clutch was no big deal but my dad said that it really isnt worth the work to replace it with a used one because i really dont know how many miles are on it.
Correct, i wouldnt replace that much of a major mechanical part that has been used, you cant really say exactly how many miles it has. all the work it takes to replace a clutch you dont want to replace it with something used
and if you get a new clutch you will want to resurface the oem flywheel or buy a aftermarket one
and if you get a new clutch you will want to resurface the oem flywheel or buy a aftermarket one
id just get a new one it not worth all the trouble of finding out its a crap clutch n having to pull it all back out, you'll also want to replace the throw out/ pilot bearings when doing a clutch job
