Default Cam choice on B18A1.....Web vs. Crower...

Question, I've got 2 sets of cams for my B18A1 ls Non-vtec......anyone have an opinion about one versus the other?

My engine came with "Web 35-222" cams (ACURA INTEGRA DOHC B18A, B18B (1986-2001) Non VTEC 16v)
http://www.webcamshafts.com/ installed.

Seller also threw in brand new Crower 62403-2 cams.

Comments appreciated......

Used GUDE Performace LS cams in my homies Ej1. Did a head job and tuned on CROME PRO and it made 170 hp. Great midrange and top end power. I'd give Bill a call and talk to him about them.

I personally have had experience with Crower 403's. I have never used web cams in my LS. I can say that 403's are a good cam for street/daily driving. However, they are power limiting. The most whp i have seen on an LS with 403's is 160whp; but I have seen a b20 make 180whp with 403's. I personally liked the cams when i had them back when my car was a daily commuter. Now I hava moved on to the 404-2's, and love them. There is a large difference between the two sets.

What is your setup? Plans for your engine? Purpose for your car?

I say try both cams out at the dyno and see which fair a better powerband for which will suit your needs.

As for valvesprings, I say use Crower. Crower makes them dual spring as compared to Crane single springs. I have also heard good responses on rocket springs.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info.
My set up is :
ACURA INTEGRA DOHC B18A Long block:
WEB CAMS (grind 115), UNORTHODOX ADJUSTABLE CAM GEARS, HSR STAINLESS VALVES, BLENDED VALVE SEATS, 1MM OVER GSR PISTONS WITH HPC SKIRT COATING, BALANCED BOTTOM END WITH ACL TRI METAL MAIN, ROD AND THRUST BEARING.LIGHTENED STOCK FLYWHEEL (APPROX:11 POUNDS)
Stock PR4 DOHC Non-Vtec head
GSR B18C1 pistons for a bit more compression (10.3.1.) ,since I'm going NA...
Teg Xsi S1 B16 cable tranny WITH LS 5TH GEAR.
Chipped OBD1 P75 ECU RUNNING NEPTUNE.

Checked the installed springs/retainers, they are stock. The Web's are probably pretty mild.
Since I've got the 403's, thought I should decide if upgrading the springs for them was worth it. This is for DD, not track, and no plans for turbo. Looking for decent (20mpg or better) mileage, fair idle with decent power. The current setup may be just fine, but I know very little about the web cams, and am about to swap the engine in a few weeks. Will run DC 4-2-1 header and stock exhaust for now. Wondering if the extra $1000 or so (parts/labor/tuning) would make a big difference and how streetable it would be. I drive mostly under 60mph around town. Current plan is to try out the web cams for a bit and see how it goes. Thanks again.
