Default my exhaust

So, this is my solution to cat back, its for my da and as you can see the exhaust that was on the car was absolutely ****! anyways I built this out of 2.5" mild steel, since the pics.. I put a high-flow cat and a resonator.. I drove the car across country with no probs.. and of course it has been since painted in stolen bicycle black high temp paint..

here it is.

I used 2.5" OD mild steel, I was using a lincon mig welder, not sure of the model.. it was at my old man's shop.. I dont know the size of wire I was using, but the mild steel was 1/8" thick, I was running wire feed around 17-18 at 22.7 amps

the settings weren't too bad for penetration, like I said, I havent had any cracks or leaks so far, knock on wood.. I did have a bit of a clearance issue over the LCA.. but that was fixed with some swearing and some re-tacking..

I dont have many pics hosted yet, but I will get some up asap, I also did the charge pipes ect with the mild steel.. just lookin for a T3 flange so I can finish the DP and get this bitch finally boosted..

ATP turbo probably has the flange you're looking for, if you haven't found one yet.

Lookin' good. I 've done my share of driveway exhausts and hate it, just not enough room to work and always having to lay on the ground

sorry I didnt put it up earlier, im a lazy bastard.. anyways, here is the full exhaust on the car.. my camera is broken so I will get some pics with the car and resonator soon.

Setup:

2.5" O.D Mild steel
a bunch of flanges
bolts from work..
Vibrant 18" resonator
2.5" high flow cat
and a flowmaster, for an integra.

So far I like the set up, its nice and low toned, doesnt sound rice.. thankgod..

nice work! I own an LS teg just like yours and i was wondering why honda has made those small bends in the tubing just after the cat that ofsets the centreline of the exhaust, Do you beleive this is necessary? Can the aluminium heat sheild be reinstalled, maybe this is why it was offset? also if the cat is left on aparently it doesnt affect your exhaust flow in a badway,(read from a honda book) and in australia its illegal... thanks man

extra shift linkage clearance, and not really, but it does help.

Probably won't be able to refit the heat shield with the OEM bolts, but you could hold it on with SS hose clamps. I end up doing that occasionally to fix exhaust rattles because the heat shields break at the mounting points. It's way more secure than stock too.
