Default sensor on top of intake manifold for OBD2 B18C1

Wuts up !! Got a question for all you guys. I have a OBD1 94 honda h/b with a 96 B18C1 OBD2. When I first bought the motor, it was missing a sensor on top of the intake manifold, I went to acura and ordered the part. Found out that its a vacuum sensor for the canister. I was running the engine with out the sensor and the idle would fluctuate between 1000-1500 rpms. When I turned off the car, I would hear that noise that all after maket intakes make ( you know, that moderate air intake noise that intakes are known for ). When I pluged in the sensor and attached the 2 vacuum lines to it, the car idles smoothly at approx 700 rpms, but when I turn off the car, that noise from the intake is totally gone. I was wondering for those of you that have a 96 or after B18C1 motor in your civic or integra, do you encounter that same noise when you turn off your car ?? BTW, I have no check engine light on even before I attached the sensor. Thanks for your 411.

are you talking about the small sensor that screws into the intake manifold itself on the third from the left intake runner? Its the only other sensor that is actually bolted onto the intake manifold besides the IAC valve, am i correct? I've experienced all of the symtoms that you have experienced, beginning with the 1000-1500RPM which never stops flucuating and the intake nosie when I shut off the car. When I shut the car off, it sounds like its disengaging because the whole car shakes and the intake noise is much louder than anyother car that i have heard with an intake, and i only have a stock intake pipe and filter. Did you use the original wires from the 94 harness or a different one because if i'm not mistaken a 94 harness uses a different plug for that intake manifold plug.
