Best tires for a CRX?
Both my front tires are almost completely bald, and I found out earlier the spares I had in reserve would actually be more unsafe on my car than the ones currently on it. So, I need to buy new tires... Could anyone suggest something in an affordable price range (not looking for high performance, I don't race my car, just a daily driver) for a 1990 DX? Any help is appreciated. THANKS!
A few questions first...
1. What size are your wheels? (13", 14", etc) (This is the last two digits of the size of the tires that are on them right now, i.e. 175/70-13, etc)
2. Do you sometimes drive in snow and frigid cold, or never? (This determines whether you need all-season tires vs summer tires.)

1. 15"
2. Next to never... I live in Portland, Oregon haha.... It's very rare we get snow here. It sometimes snows (once every few years) and we do get frigid cold weather, but not enough to worry about. Icy tarmac happens only a few times a year.
If you or anyone can help me from here, thanks again... You guys rock!!!

The size you need is 195/50-15.
Get the Kumho Ecsta SPT in that size. Very good traction and handling on dry roads, simply awesome when it rains, last a long time (30-45K miles is typical), and bargain-priced. You can get them from the Tire Rack for $51 each, and then get $40 back from Kumho, so it winds up being $41 each. Very good tire at an incredibly low price.
If you get these, don't forget to send in for the rebate within 30 days of your purchase. Download the rebate form here.
