Default buying a 99 prelude

so im about to buy a prelude for around 7k. its a 99 with 91k miles on it. Its an SH and the body and rest of exterior is in really good shape. I was wondering what are any problems with this model that i should be aware of such as recalls and so on. thanks.

No weary cautions I know of. Just realize what you will be doing to this vehicle before you go and buy an SH model.

Good find.

5th gen MT ludes are generally very reliable (of course this is relative to how you treat your car), and if you decide to get a base model, make sure it isn't the crappy AT.

that seems pretty cheap, unless a little TLC includes a new paint job.

the hood is a little faded in the front and a little on the lower part of the bumper. ( it probably wasnt waxed very often) it doesnt desperately need new paint but its going to get one anyways cuz i want it to look spectacular and new

i recently picked up a 98SH with 81k on it, so far it's been perfect, minus a slow clutch fluid leak, rides ALOT smoother than my 4th gen, hopefully it stays more reliable too

yeah i bought a 97 sh with 95k a couple months ago, i hate it. it has so many problems it makes me want to drive it off a cliff. it was carfax certified and all that bull but its biggest problem is something electrical that the honda dealership doesnt even know whats wrong. im not telling you not to buy it, id love mine if it worked right. but if it was beaten on like mine most likely was have fun fixing it if you dont know anything like me.

^ ^ yea that's always a problem that you won't know until its too late. My car never had any problems and i love my lude. I do keep very good maintenance on it though so I'm hoping mine will last a long time

If it;s got a leak in the master/slave replace it asap. You can end up burning out your clutch, and causing damage to your tranny if you start rough shifting.

were you talking to me joeboxer? because i dont really think its a tranny problem but i have no idea about cars. i also seem to roughly shift a lot because i suck at driving a 5 speed, this is the car i learned on and from what i hear it was a bad first car to learn how to drive stick with.

when i learned how to drive stick i learned on my own it was on an old chevy pick up with a 3spd gearbox. although i must say learning in the mud for starters was rather fun.
