Default Is a blaster coil necessary..

I just picked up an MSD 6A. Do I have to install the Blaster coil to run the ignition? Also, will I lose alot of spark power b/c I am not using the aftermarket coil?

i am pretty sure you dont need it. I had my SCI on for a year or so without the blaser SS coil, then i put it on and i couldnt notice any difference, although i am sure there was a differnce spark-wise.

Great. I forgot to order one this week and there is no way it will get here by Friday for me to install it in time for my first nitrous runs. Thanks for the quick reply.

You can just connect the output of the 6A to your stock ignition coil, but 1.) blaster coil looks nicer (i have both the 6a and the blaster coil on) and 2.) it probably helps generate an even greater spark. theres a shop near me that could have it probably shipped as soon as 2 days from now, if your interested. I'd buy one if you wanted one and then ship it to you if you'd like, but im really low on cash right now.

Don't worry about it. I just need to hook up the MSD for one run on the bottle to make sure that I'm didn't mess up my install. I'll be ordering a blaster coil next week.
