Hello all. New to this forum and somewhat new to the honda/acura scene. I have pretty much owned and worked on rx-7's since i was a lad (had 1 crx si). I recently purchased a 1995 ls SE for my wife. 1 downfall is its a auto since she doesn't like manuals much (which is nice since it keeps her from my cars). My main question is this. IT being a automatic and a non-vtec... is there much power to be had from this car besides the 142 hp that is stock? i know a AI and Exhaust will free up a few more horses but not sure if the numbers will be very significant or if the trany will enjoy the extra power. like i said, i am not too familiar with honda's and would appreciate any feedback. Since I have to drive this car sometimes and my foot is a bit heavy I would like to spice it up a bit. Any suggestions or should i just work on the suspension alittle and enjoy the car on some winding roads? maybe just keep it stock? The gas mileage on these are great compared to the rotary engine so i know i will be driving this car often. Plus my son likes the integra's so i was thinking maybe a future project car for him (converted to a manual than) but i could always give him an rx if he wants. again, any feedback is welcome and thanks again.
cheers !!

Well it your wife car, just let it be.
It will be good if your wife pass the car to your son. So it will be a good project for you son conving from auto to manual.

If its your wifes car why not ask her is she even wants exhaust and intake?? I would love to do a few things to my wifes 4runner, but she would kill me.
By adding the intake and exhaust you are not adding any HP, you are really just freeing up the HP that the engine allready has. For that the auto will be fine.
As the car is a 95 have you checked that it is up to date on all of its maintance, espically the timing belt. If you dont know its history I will be willing to bet the car will really come to life with a full tune up.

Wife is fine with this, she supports anything i do (within reason and our budget) which is cool and why i married her. I know the intake and exhause wont 'add' horsepower ,I worded it wrong . i just wasn't sure how well that engine responded to those mods. some engines don't really benifit that much, or atleast the cost doesn't justify the benifit. anyway..... I got the car for a 1000. My brother owns a body / salvage business and my wife needed a car. The car had no frame damage, basically a few minor repairs (front bumber , radiator etc. ) so I put a additional 1100 in it for repairs and ended up with a $2100 car; 95000 miles, good shap , NO frame damage, runs good, handles nice. I don't know about the timing belt so i will probably change that. I planned on plugs and wires this weekend. Is the belt easy to change? I know her old car need to have the engine hoisted slightly to get the belt out. One nice thing about a rotary, no timing belt

well first of all welcome to the forum and about the integra well if its your wifes the you should talk to her before you do anything to her car. thats pretty wack thats it is an automatic but hey its still an integra. good luck with it.
