5th gens dont have stock projectors. i have HIDs on my 97 and it doesnt affect oncoming traffic at all.

its usually hit or miss. depends on the kit, kelvin and if you aim it correctly.

I do retrofits, and I've been doing them for about 3 years now. If you check my sig. it has a link to my group buy that I'm having. Today is the last day for it, so if you're interested in getting playa prices, now is the time to jump in

How sure are you about your lights not affecting on coming traffic?

So what kit did you install that you're positively sure is not causing unusual glare for those around you?

I've had one of those on my car, aimed fairly low to the ground and drove around town without any problems. Suckers are bright. Yes, they still threw light all over the place and you can see all the hot spots, but compared to the stock lighting, they were a definite improvement. I eventually took them off because people were flashing me in rural areas with zero or minimal street lighting. And it's on the street without any lighting where the HID's are most useful.

I'd do a retrofit, but it's still illegal and will not pass inspection here. And it's not like I can take it off as easily as an HID kit before an inspection.

Did start anything, just point out the obvious...I hope you're running at least 8000k bulbs, cause those aren't too blinding for on coming traffic

Just wondering how it's illegal to have a retrofit? Everything I use is DOT approved, and I've never heard of anyone not passing inspection for having a retrofit unless if you just go to some place who's real picky or knows that your car didn't come with them. If then, that's when you just go to another place and have your car inspected

i drive with my high beams on all the time, to make up for the lack of glare that my non retrofitted hid plug and play kit produces.. i make sure traffic gets the hell out of my way, and that on coming traffic knows for sure that im on my way

I know all about the whole retrofit vs plug-n-play war. I've participated in it, I've read enough about it. They're 6500k. Its just annoying to argue about it which is why I said dont start.

So I suppose you're saying that all the mods we put on our cars are illegal since it didn't come with the car when we bought it, but yet we can pass inspection just fine. The way I see it as, it's only illegal if cops have nothing better to do but to question you about it
