Default LS with GSR tranny.

How much does a LS benfit with a GSR tranny? Would it make it faster than a stock GSR?

your ls would benift because the gsr trans has shorter gear ratio. But i wouldnt think it would be faster than a stock gsr. The gsr motor would still pull from it...

false information. the gsr tranny will increase acceleration a bit on the LS, but the VTEC in the GSR will smoke the LS.... 170hp>142hp

b16 tranny in an LS is REALLY nice if you like short gears. Espeacially with the torque of an LS. However, I'm not sure how you like being at 4.5k on the freeway going 75. GSR tranny in an LS is a nice compromise

I had a gsr tranny on the LS motor when i first purchased my car

after driving a stock LS compared to my car I could tell that the acceleration of the gsr tranny was much better, it felt stronger and not as slugish going through the rpm range

Funny how I keep hearing about this "torque" the LS has but yet looking at real #s it would appear the GSR has just as much. Interesting I tell ya. Basically with a GSR tranny in both a LS and GSR, the LS will keep up, right until around 5500 where its power starts to die off and the GSR just keeps pulling.....ofcourse the LS will shift at 6800 and then the GSR will keep pulling some more...on up to 8k (ok, 7k and 8200 if you want to use fuel cutoff). GSR has just as much torque as the LS (in stock or near stock form) but has it over a much broader range (like 2500-8k vs 3500 to 5500 on the ls).

Are you basing this statement from dyno numbers under WOT?? I'm talking about just regular steet driving. The LS has better low-end torque.

gsr tranny will help the ls but it still wont touch a gsr, the ls has better low end torque and the gsr has the high end power= the reason for ls/vtec,both have there good an bad sides but its basically whatever you what your car for

i have a gsr and an ls; the gsr feels like it pulls better at low rpm because of the shorter gearing. i'm not sure why the ls is praised as having more torque than an gsr either; the gsr has more torque and shorter gearing.

I liked the LS/GSR combo I had in my old hatch. Was VERY tourquey. Took down a JDM b16 Swapped hatch and a USDM GSR Hatch. Was a VERY strong motor though.

the ls is known for its "torque" because of the fact that it is almost at peak torque really low in the rpm range, as compared to the gsr's which peaks higher
