Look in the box that they came in there is going to be a little peice of paper that will have word and pictures on it. Those words and the pictures they refer to will tell you how to adjust/maintain/install really anything you need to know about the shocks you just bought.

the settings depend on what your spring rate is and how you want your car to ride. i have neuspeed sports and i run mine on 3 in the front and 2 in back.

These shocks also come in two versions : one that has the adjustment on the top of the shock like what we are all explaining, and there is one that has the **** near the bottom of the body of the shock, fyi.
is it a big problem if 1 of the plastic adjusting pieces isnt there im talking about the top piece that shows u the numbers and colors i brought them 2nd hand n when i put them on it just popped off n i lost it
