h23 vtec swap or full on h22 swap
Hey i was just wondering which is better to do on a perlude i have a h23a1 prelude si non-vtec with a bad head so i am wondering which one would be better for my car i have around 1500 to spend give or take 500 and i would like some input from you guys thanks for your time
right now i got the h23 and im in need of a new engine also (mine got crankshaft problems) ive talked to some ppl and they said that you can put an h22 in, all u need is to get a h22 computer and wire the vtec to the computer.. and maybe little adjustments here and there
im heading towards an h22 because it has vtec and has more power, so thats what i would recommend u do

basically, to be safe and have an easier job, just swap the h22 in full, if you want headaches and an easy to mess up motor, especially if anything isnt done right, then try the h23 with h22 head. I wanted to do the head swap, but now I am just swapping a full h22 in and then building my h23 block for the h22 head.

Im doing the h23 vtec right now.....if u have only 1500 def do the h22 swap....the h23vtec will cost u more than that......u need a shitload more than just the h22 head for the h23vtec. U need everything the timing belt touches cuz the h23 and h22 timing belts are different, need h22 ecu, h22 headers n downpipe, new timing belt h22 head gasket, intake manifold with all the sensors, h22 waterpipe, waterpump, all the block gears that timing belt goes on, h22 valve cover, new plug wires. Def alor cheaper to get the h22 swap .....u can get for like 1200.Then all u need is the h22 ecu ,wiring harness, tranny, and cvhalfshafts
