ReInstalling cams, do i need liquid gasket for cam caps?
The manual calls for using liquid gasket on the cam caps that dont stretch across both cams...is this neccessary, and if so whats the best kind
I saw something like atv liquid silicone gasket at autozone...will this work.

Like it says there, on the cam caps that hold the cams down
And could i use engine oil or is assmeble lube needed

im pretty sure the manual says oil but wouldnt hurt for you to look. use high temp gasket maker. like permatex red. 12mm bolts go 16 ft/lbs , 10mm bolts go 8 ft/lbs.
its for a b16a2 so its 20ft lbs 12mm and 7ft lbs 10 mm, so others dont get confused
But thanks
But thanks
do i really gotta wait 24 hour to drive with this permatex like it says or will i be ok if i let it cure overnight
ok, well considering at the time i posted that i had fully assembled my valve train, so i doubt it. anyway im fine i just drove it and its fine.
I would consider all the steps in the manual to be "neccessary".If the manual says to add liquid gasket, do it.Failure to follow intstructions could have bad concequenses.
