Default considering boost...need some input

i've been a NA fanboy for the longest. but lately have been thinking that with the amount of money i'd spend building a kickass NA motor i could could build a killer boosted motor. :D

so here's what im planning on doing...

stock b18c1
peakboost top mount kit
upgrade to bigger intercooler if needed
edelbrock victor x intake manifold
itr cams and valvetrain
3'' exhaust
hondata s300 or neptune rtp
rc 550cc injectors
walbro 255lb fuel pump

i'd run it like this on a conservative tune till additional funds start flowing in when i would really start building the motor.

sleeved and bored to 84mm
ls 89mm crank
manley or pauter rods
cp 9:1 pistons
ported head
bigger injectors
clutch (not sure what would hold the power)
quaife lsd
etc etc etc

hp goals are 300-400whp for daily driving with quick spool and 500+whp on race tune. should i go with the GT3076R or GT35R? looking for 11-12sec et's in a full weight ej. feel free to throw out your suggestions. good, bad, whatever. this would be an ongoing project so im in no hurry.

I was also worried about the peakboost intercooler being to small

(8:17 AM 11/18/2006) Dirtfall: I was wondering how much hp the the t3/to4e turbo that comes in the PeakBoost kit maxes out at. I would like to make 400-450 with this kit. My last question is would the intercooler be big enough for these power goals? If not could you substitute in a bigger one when i order in the spring?
(7:14 AM 11/19/2006) Boostfed.com: the ic is fine for that hp level,. it is thick , you can uograded though and I would have to find out a price for the ic upgrade sir , you can get a 50, 54, 57 or 60 trim turbo sir 60 trim good to 525hp

Thats what i was told by boostfed. So i guess it would be fine for your power goals. your build sounds similar to what im looking to do i will defiantly follow this thread. Good luck with your build.

You have to decide whats more important, daily drivability or bragging numbers. If DD is the goal, then you'll probably want the smaller turbo because traction will limit street use, as will pump gas. If its a 2nd car, weekend warrior deal, then go with the big one and use c16.

Personally I'd build the bottom end up first, since you can still make good power on a stock gsr head - just turn up the boost. Both the gt30/35 are effecient at higher boost levels.

yeah this is going to be my daily driver for the time being. so looks like the gt30 is the better option. how do you think it'll run on a stock b18c1 until i get it built? and at what hp levels does it start to lose efficiency?

If you're looking to run 11's in a full weight EG you don't need 500+ WHP to do that. 400-450 WHP and great driving can take you to bottom 11's or even 10's in an EG coupe.
